Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is seeking a Resident Assistant (RA) in the Housing & Residence Life department. The RA helps create a positive on-campus living experience, builds community, and supports residents through conversations and events using FGCU's Residential Curriculum.

Responsibilities include upholding the curriculum, mediating conflicts, assisting with policy understanding, and participating in training, move-in/move-out, and on-call rounds.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
• Familiar with basic computer software (Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.).
• Understanding the importance of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports the department’s vision, mission, and core values and residential curriculum.
• Builds community, mediates conflicts, and encourages healthy habits with residents.
• Participates in university functions and supports departmental programs.
• Helps residents understand University policies and procedures and encourages involvement.
• Completes required training and participates in residence hall openings and moves.
• Maintains front desk coverage and on-call rounds; responds to emergencies as needed.
