Job summary

MediLodge of Rogers City in Rogers City, MI is seeking a Resident Activity Assistant to organize and participate in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations.

You will document participation in medical records, collaborate with the activity director, and use various therapy models to enhance resident well-being, with opportunities to contribute to decorating for events and developing monthly calendars.

Responsibilities

• Assists the resident activity director as needed.
• Utilizes the environment to provide both comfort and stimulation to residents.
• Fosters a sense of community within the center environment.
• Leads and participates in individual and group activities.
• Utilizes models such as pet therapy, music therapy, or art therapy to tailor programming.
• Assists with decorating for special events and seasonal parties.
• Develops and posts monthly calendars as planning resources.
• Participates in recreational programs for residents in rooms.
• Promotes volunteer efforts in the community.
• Maintains records of activities and attendance.
• Stores activity equipment and cleans area after conclusion.
• Supports resident well-being using a biopsychosocial approach.
• Provides or arranges comfort/support to residents and families as needed.
