Shady Nook Nursing and Rehab in Lawrenceburg, IN is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our skilled nursing team. You will work under the direction of the Activities Director to plan engaging programs that promote residents' emotional, social, recreational, and spiritual well-being.

The role is full-time, with every other weekend required. Responsibilities include supporting daily living activities, documenting participation, assisting with outings and art

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in long-term care or with the elderly or disabled preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting the emotional, recreational, and social needs of residents on an individual basis.
• Help residents with activities of daily living such as writing letters, making phone calls, and registering to vote.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity attendance.
• Assist with mail delivery, escorting residents to activities, caring for facility plants and pets, preparing the monthly newsletter, fundraising efforts, and making facility announcements.
• Conduct and assist with activity programs that provide entertainment, exercise, relaxation, creative expression, and social interaction.
• Provide residents with craft supplies, materials, and equipment while supervising activity participation.
• Encourage residents to participate in crafts, painting, games, and other recreational activities that promote independence and engagement.
