Avamere Queen Anne Healthcare in Seattle, WA seeks an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in planning, organizing and implementing recreational and social activities for residents to enhance wellbeing and engagement.

The role involves planning diverse activities, leading group sessions, coordinating with staff and families, and ensuring safety and documentation. Must maintain CPR/BLS, have a valid driver’s license, and enjoy working with geriatrics.

Qualifications

• Active CPR/BLS during employment.
• Experience in long-term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute or critical care settings.
• Experience with electronic medical records documentation.
• Must hold an active and unencumbered Driver’s License.
• Experience with volunteer work and activities work with geriatric population.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, flexible, patient and empathy working with geriatric population.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing a diverse range of activities (games, exercise, arts/crafts, music, social events).
• Create activity schedules and calendars; ensure variety for different interests/abilities.
• Prepare activity areas, gather supplies, maintain a safe environment.
• Lead group activities and engage residents in one-on-one interactions.
• Encourage participation and provide support to residents needing assistance.
• Observe resident responses and report changes to staff.
• Maintain records of participation and feedback.
• Coordinate activities with staff, volunteers and families.
• Transport residents to/from activities as needed.
• Assist with setup/cleanup and attend staff meetings.
