Job summary

Diversicare invites you to apply for a full-time Activities role at our facility. You will support an Activity Program for all residents, leading group activities and providing one-to-one engagement as needed.

You will coordinate with the Activity Coordinator, document progress, and help plan events such as movies and group outings. A passion for improving residents' lives and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care or recreational setting.
• Ability to communicate ideas and instruct residents appropriately.
• Ability to direct and perform activities and respond to varied resident needs.
• Ability to motivate residents and promote their well-being through activities.
• Ability to interpret feelings and ideas in terms of personal viewpoint.
• Ability to evaluate resident progress and report to Activities Coordinator.
• Imagination and creativity are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Leads group activities as assigned by the Activity Coordinator.
• Provides one-to-one activities to residents who cannot participate in groups.
• Assists in planning Activity Program through Resident’s Council and Activity Coordinator.
• Maintains attendance sheets on participants.
• Assists residents to and from activities.
• Communicates status of residents to Activity Coordinator.
• May attend care plan meetings and document progress notes.
• Arrange movies, live entertainment or group outings.
• Assigns duties to volunteers.
