Job summary

The Groves Center in Lake Wales is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a creative, interactive activities program that meets residents’ needs and respects safety guidelines.

You will help plan and conduct individual, small and group activities; assist in developing monthly calendars; coordinate transportation for outings and appointments; maintain records and attend to assessments; foster resident engagement and well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer one year of experience in a long-term care facility.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures, policy and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in development of monthly activity calendars and maintaining attendance records.
• Coordinate transportation for residents to outings, appointments, or discharge.
• Assist with assessments and progress notes as assigned by the Activity Director.
• Keep the Activity Department clean, orderly, and secured.
