Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Prior laundry, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Must be able to read labels, follow safety instructions, and use laundry equipment and cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of laundry duties to ensure resident clothing, linens, towels, and other washable items are cleaned and maintained in a sanitary, safe, and orderly condition.
• Receives assignments from supervisor and follows laundry schedules and procedures, including collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, hanging, labeling, and distributing laundry items.
• Collects soiled linens and resident clothing from designated areas while following infection control procedures.
• Sorts laundry by type, color, fabric, soil level, and washing requirements; ensures items are returned to the correct resident or department.
• Operates washers, dryers, and laundry equipment safely; cleans lint traps, dryer vents, and equipment.
• Folds, stacks, hangs, and stores clean linens and resident clothing; delivers laundry to resident rooms and designated areas.
• Reports damaged items, missing items, or equipment issues to the supervisor.
• Maintains laundry rooms and storage areas in a clean, organized, sanitary condition.
• Follows facility infection control, chemical use, resident rights, confidentiality, safety policies; other duties may be assigned.
