Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records/Health Information professional to maintain resident charts and ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines. You will manage documentation, assist in departmental operations, and support privacy policy adherence across the facility.

You will handle records retrieval, filing, and indexing, while coordinating with inter-department staff and external agencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain resident medical records and health information systems.
• Follow work schedules and facility policies and procedures.
• Organize, plan and direct the medical records department per policy.
• Record incidents and retrieve resident records manually or electronically.
• File and index charts, reports and related documentation.
• Ensure records are complete, properly filed and signed where required.
• Abstract information for insurance and government reporting within Privacy Rules.
• Audit records and ensure they do not leave the department unauthorized.
