Job summary

Resident Salon Services in Massachusetts is seeking a Licensed Cosmetologist to join as a Resident Hair Specialist. This part-time role focuses on enriching the lives of seniors through compassionate, personalized hair care in a safe, welcoming environment.

You’ll perform consultations, haircuts, styling, chemical treatments, and age-appropriate maintenance for senior residents, with no weekends or evenings and a 50% commission-based pay structure. A sign-on bonus and 401k may be offered.

Qualifications

• Current Cosmetology License (required).
• Minimum of 3 years’ licensed experience in cosmetology.
• Experience with senior clientele preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in haircutting, styling, and chemical services.
• Strong attention to detail and sanitation practices.
• Excellent communication and empathetic demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultations, haircuts, styling, chemical treatments, and related services for senior residents.
• Offer gentle, patient care, considering mobility, comfort, and individual needs.
• Educate residents on age-appropriate hair care and maintenance.
• Stay up to date on techniques for mature hair, including perms and roller sets.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitary salon space in line with health standards.
• Build meaningful relationships while maintaining a warm, professional presence in the community.
