Job summary

The Suffield House Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Part-Time Dietary Aide to support meal service for Residents and staff. Shifts include 4-8pm and 7-3p, with rotating schedules and holiday coverage.

You will help prepare meals, assemble trays, and ensure safe, sanitary operations in the dietary department. This role involves assisting with meal service, dishwashing, table setup, and keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide courteous, responsive service to Residents and staff.
• Basic food safety and sanitation awareness.
• Willingness to follow dietary policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and beverage service.
• Participate in food tray line and assemble trays per diet cards.
• Assist with loading food carts and delivering meals to Residents and staff.
• Bag and store food items as directed.
• Ensure utensils and dishes are clean; load and operate the dishwashing machine.
• Clear and sanitize tables; maintain dining areas.
• Sort and stack clean dishes and inspect cleanliness.
• Store clean dishes and utensils properly.
• Set tables and assist with setting up for meals.
• Handle waste per sanitation guidelines.
• Keep work area clean and free of hazards.
• Report equipment issues and supply needs to supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with Residents, visitors, and staff.
• Attend meetings and in-services as scheduled.
