Job summary

Ramboll in Americas is seeking a Resident Engineer in Arlington, VA to apply standard engineering and construction techniques on complex water projects. You will analyze concepts, supervise field teams, and adapt designs while ensuring contract documents are followed.

You will perform calculations for pumps, hydraulics and electrical adequacy, develop cash flow from critical path schedules, and contribute to budgeting and progress tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• Associate's degree or technical certification in science, math, architecture, computing, technical drafting or other relevant technical curriculum, and 4+ years of qualifying engineering experience.
• Ability to make decisions affecting the cost and performance of the work.
• Advanced credentials (EIT, PE) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering concepts of a project.
• Oversee construction personnel to ensure procedures follow contract documents; direct supervisors to comply with contract documents.
• Ensure components meet engineering requirements of the contract documents.
• Perform engineering calculations for pump performance, concrete mechanics, pipeline hydraulics, and electrical adequacy.
• Prepare cash flow calculations from critical path schedule and schedule of values for budgeting and tracking progress.
