Job summary

HDR is seeking a Resident Project Representative II / Resident Engineer in Boston, MA to lead on-site construction oversight for multidisciplinary projects. The role requires interpreting drawings, documenting daily activities, tracking quantities, and coordinating with engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Must read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts.

  • Assist with project audit/closeout.
  • Supervise and direct junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants.

In the role of Resident Project Representative II / Resident Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents

  • Work under general supervision of a Design Project Manager
  • Supervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultants
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification. Candidates hired without their PE will be titled \"Resident Project Representative 2\"
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • Ability to problem solve and provide possible solutions to the engineer
  • Local candidates preferred

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
  • Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) {Boston, MA}: $106,680 - $152,400
