Resident Engineer - Rail (Remote Site Locations) (Biotech)

Our Construction Management team is seeking a Resident Engineer for various rail and transit infrastructure projects. The Resident Engineer will manage the daily observation of the Contractors' operations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the construction management and inspection of rail projects.
  2. Review shop drawings and specifications to ensure proper installation of contract items.
  3. Prepare inspection reports and oversee field testing and commissioning.
  4. Review change orders, issue recommendations, and respond to RFIs.
  5. Maintain quantity logs and review payment requests from contractors.
  6. Attend meetings and prepare minutes.
  7. Review and maintain staffing reports, payroll certifications, and other labor documentation from the contractors.
  8. Review the Contractors' work plans.
  9. Ensure the Contractor complies with the Safety and Health Plan.
  10. Prepare a punch list with the owner upon project completion.
Qualifications:
  1. BS degree in engineering or a related field.
  2. 10+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer managing construction field teams.
  3. Experience with Amtrak, MTA, Metro-North Railroad, NJ Transit, or Long Island Railroad projects is a plus.
  4. OSHA 30-hour safety certification.
  5. Candidate must have reliable transportation.
  6. A licensed professional engineer is preferred.
