Job summary

Horrocks is hiring a Resident Engineer in Henderson, NV to own projects from start to finish. The role requires leading roadway construction efforts, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring design alignment with specs.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, EIT license, and experience on multidisciplinary teams. MHSA training is provided; access to certifications is available as projects continue.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed EIT required; Nevada PE license preferred.
• MSHA training required; Horrocks will train candidates.
• Experience on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Solid knowledge of AASHTO roadway design criteria.
• Proficiency with Autodesk or Bentley design software preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret/read design specs for highways, interchanges, streets, and trails.
• Oversee roadway projects; address design issues and field changes; manage pay apps, RFIs, schedule, submittals; coordinate with field inspectors.
• Collaborate with project managers on client relations and sub-consultant management.
• Own projects from start to finish with focus on quality, budget, and schedule.
• Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success.
• Available for onsite work days, nights, and weekends during projects.
• Obtain certifications related to construction engineering management.
• Monitor contracts and manage personnel and budget.
