Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer/Construction Inspector to join our construction management water group. The projects will primarily be located in Central New Jersey and Rockland County, New York. This is a full-time, on-site role focused on a variety of construction types working with a focus on park facilities as well as water and wastewater projects. The Resident Engineer/Construction Inspector will become a member of our talented team of construction management professionals that focus on delivering outstanding client service, helping them program, plan, and deliver their infrastructure, building and engineering projects. Services include managing water and wastewater and other projects during the pre-bid through the construction phase of these exciting and challenging projects. In this role you will use your knowledge of construction and project management to successfully deliver these projects to our clients. You will work closely with clients, engineers, contractors, and end-users, demonstrating a strong understanding of the process. We’re looking for candidates that want to change the industry through determination, education, and leadership.

Role accountabilities:

  • Process and track construction documents through construction phase, this will include maintaining daily reports, reviewing drawings, responding to RFI's, reviewing schedules and payments while providing recommendations
  • Ability to multi-task on multiple projects at once. This will include being familiar with multiple contract specifications when working on smaller projects/assisting in construction management or taking the lead role as the Resident Engineer on projects
  • Perform field inspections as necessary
  • Communicate with clients and contractors

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • 5 or or more years of relevant Project/ Construction Management related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or a related field.

Key Attributes

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-starter approach to delivering successful projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed PE
  • CCM Certification
  • Water and Wastewater (treatment plants, pump stations, utilities) construction experience.
  • Experience developing cost estimates.
  • Proficiency using smart technology and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience creating and updating project schedules in P6 scheduling software.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project is a plus.
