Job summary

Fortil is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Auburn Hills engineering center, serving as the main technical interface between the customer and multidisciplinary teams throughout the product lifecycle.

You will support development activity, coordinate discussions, and drive issue resolution across software, hardware, and systems, ensuring timely communication of requirements and progress to the customer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as a Resident Engineer in automotive or consumer electronics contexts.
• Strong understanding of automotive development workflows and validation processes.
• Experience interfacing with multidisciplinary teams and customers in English.

Responsibilities

• Act as on-site technical liaison between customer and internal engineering teams.

As part of the growth of our activities in North America, we are looking for a Resident Engineer to support one of our clients in the automotive industry at its engineering center in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Your Role

You will serve as the primary technical interface between the customer and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from project launch through production support.

Your Responsabilities

• Act as the on-site technical liaison between the customer and internal engineering teams.
• Support product development activities and coordinate technical discussions with stakeholders.
• Participate in project reviews, customer meetings, quality reviews, and program follow-up activities.
• Track, document, and communicate technical issues using issue management tools.
• Coordinate with software, hardware, systems, mechanical, and validation teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Provide regular project status updates and escalates critical issues when necessary.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering processes and customer support.
• Ensure customer expectations and technical requirements are properly communicated throughout the development process.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Resident Engineer supporting Stellantis R&D, ideally within the Auburn Hills engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of Stellantis development processes, milestones, and engineering workflows.
• Familiarity with Stellantis internal engineering tools and systems.
• Experience supporting the development and validation of automotive electronic products (ECUs, displays, infotainment systems, BCMs, etc.).
• Knowledge of automotive validation activities across software, hardware, systems, mechanical, and environmental disciplines.
• Experience with issue tracking tools such as JIRA, IBM RTC, Redmine, or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
