Job summary

Massport seeks a Resident Engineer to oversee complex capital and tenant-improvement projects, ensuring design intent, safety, and operational continuity. You will coordinate with managers, contractors, and regulators, lead on-site activities, and maintain thorough documentation to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Engineering or related field with 3–5 years in similar environments, and massport license preferences are noted.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in construction, resident engineering, inspection, or construction management in complex environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, regulations, plans, specifications, contract requirements, safety procedures and codes.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage field oversight and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates construction management expertise to align design intent, construction activities, quality, and operations throughout projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, contractors, consultants, Operations, Facilities, tenants, and regulators to minimize impacts to active transportation facilities and ongoing operations.
• Provide on-site leadership with observation of work, assess safety, quality, sequencing, and schedule, identify risks, and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed documentation, stakeholder communication, QA coordination, and issue resolution to ensure safe, efficient delivery per Massport standards.
