Job summary

Valdeseng in Lombard, IL is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead complex construction inspection and civil/structural engineering efforts. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide overall project leadership for construction engineering activities.
• Direct field inspection, material testing, and project documentation efforts.
• Lead coordination with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to address construction challenges and maintain project quality.
• Interpret and enforce contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and resolve field conditions.
• Act as the primary liaison with the Illinois Tollway, managing communications, maintenance of traffic, and project progress reporting.
• Conduct and facilitate weekly progress meetings to monitor project performance and address emerging issues.
• Manage authorization to proceed, change orders, and extra work orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
• Monitor and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to meet project milestones and objectives.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate job site records, including daily reports, meeting minutes, approved drawings, and pay requests.
• Ensure safety protocols are implemented and adhered to by all project participants.
• Mentor and support inspection teams to ensure effective field operations and documentation practices.
• Assist in designing and planning future projects during off-peak construction periods as required.
• Champion project quality, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction throughout all construction phases.

• Proven leadership in managing complex construction projects and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong knowledge of contract management, construction planning, and documentation
• Familiarity with e-Builder, ICORS, and Microsoft Office Suite systems
• Ability to drive to and work at construction sites
• Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
• Willingness to complete required training in OSHA, CPR, and other mandated safety programs
