Job summary

Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Beverly, MA, is seeking an Activities Assistant. This part-time role runs 10 am–6 pm on alternating weekends, offering daily pay at a rate of $17/hour.

You will support residents by creating engaging programs, documenting participation, and collaborating with the care team to enrich lives. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and some experience with seniors, with strong communication and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year of experience in an Activities Department, healthcare setting, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, assisted living community, or related environment preferred.
• Experience working with seniors is highly desirable.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with residents, families, team members, visitors, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, engaging environment that enhances residents' quality of life.
• Document resident participation and engagement in activities and programs.
• Promote well-being through meaningful activities and interactions.
• Plan, develop, organize, and implement recreational, social, educational, and community programs.
• Build positive relationships with residents and encourage participation.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident care goals.
• Observe and communicate mood/participation changes to team members.
• Assist with community outreach and marketing events.
• Complete administrative tasks, audits, reports, and activity documentation.
• Help prepare, decorate, set up, and break down activities and events.
• Escort and transport residents to activities as needed.
