Job summary

Milestone Retirement Communities is seeking an Engagement Assistant to support resident activities in our Independent and Assisted Living communities. You’ll assist with programs, outings, and events that enrich daily life for residents, reporting to the Engagement Specialist.

The role emphasizes teamwork, organization, and strong communication as you help residents stay engaged, active, and connected each day. This is a full-time position in California with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor's preferred in Social Services, Business, or related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience in assisted living preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• CDL preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and community relations.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and make decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Pleasant, professional, and personable demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Complete Resident Interest Worksheets for all new residents within 7 days of move-in.
• Orient residents to the engagement program and available opportunities.
• Follow scheduled activities with minimal changes; assist in arranging entertainment within budget.
• Promote all programs to maximize resident participation.
• Support quarterly events that may also serve as marketing opportunities.
• Help organize resident outings, including trips, medical visits, and destination activities.
• Assist with transportation and mobility during outings.
• Ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others, following Safety Committee standards.
• Foster teamwork, take initiative, and support coworkers, residents, and visitors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
