Job summary

Spearfish-Canyon-Healthcare is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in planning and conducting a creative, interactive activities program for residents. You will help tailor programs to each resident's interests and needs while following all safety guidelines.

You will assist with calendar development, group activities, transportation when needed, and maintaining records. This role emphasizes engagement, communication with families, and teamwork in a long-term care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Strong communication and empathetic engagement with residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and conducting individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in developing monthly activity calendars and maintaining attendance records.
• Support communication among residents, families, staff and outside agencies.
• Help arrange transportation for residents when needed for outings or appointments.
• Assist with activity assessments and documentation as directed.
