Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services is seeking an Activity Aide for the Bastrop facility to assist the Activity Director in planning, coordinating, and directing residents' activity programs. You will collaborate with staff to organize events for both residents and staff, including weekend activities and newsletters.

The role involves facilitating individual and group activities, scheduling beauty/parlor events, and supporting residents who are bedfast or unable to participate in groups.

Qualifications

• A school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
• A Certified Nurse Aide is preferred.
• Previous experience working in activity or recreational department in the long-term care industry or related industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.
• Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residents
• Assist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activities
• Provide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate record
• Assist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors. Calendar should also be provided to each resident and posted in room
• Assist with generating the facility newsletter
• Participate in community events related to the interest of the facility.
• Attend in-services as necessary
• Assist residents to and from activities
• Assist with activity program including Residents’ Council and night and weekend activities as needed
• Deliver resident mail daily
• Other duties as assigned by the Activity Director and/or Administrator
