Responsibilities

• Check floor plan for assigned station and side work.
• Greet residents and guests; assist residents to table and help with walkers as needed.
• Distribute/collect menus; take meal orders; monitor dietary needs and suggest menu options.
• Assist plating and portion control for appetizers, salads, soups, beverages and desserts.
• Ensure meals look appetizing and well-presented before serving.
• Serve meals and beverages with accuracy and promptness.
• Monitor residents' eating habits and report unusual observations to the Director of Wellness.
• Check back after meals to ensure satisfaction and needs are met.
• Observe residents' cues and respond promptly to requests or dietary preferences.
• Explain menu items in detail and provide recommendations based on resident preferences.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to communicate orders and dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with team to maintain smooth dining service and address issues.
• Assist other staff as needed and volunteer for open shifts when available.
• Follow hygiene and safety protocols and keep dining areas clean and organized.
• Ensure proper table settings, replace as needed and remove dirty dishes.
• Re-set tables completely; restock condiments and supplies for next meals.
• Create a welcoming, friendly environment for residents, families, and guests.
• Build positive relationships with residents by addressing them by name and engaging in conversation.
• Familiarize yourself with daily menus, including special diets and restrictions.
