Job summary

Yona in Jeffersonville, Indiana, is seeking a warm and experienced Server to provide outstanding hospitality to residents, visitors, and coworkers in a community setting. You will join a dedicated dining team to serve meals, greet residents, and maintain a clean and welcoming dining environment.

The ideal candidate will have proven server experience, knowledge of sanitation guidelines, excellent communication skills, and good physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Server.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of food in quantities according to the menu, recipe and number of persons to be served.
• Sets up dining room as instructed.
• Prepares items such as salads and beverages.
• Greets customers as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided.
• Distributes menus and presents daily specials.
• Answers questions regarding the menu
• Takes resident orders in dining room and serves meals to residents in a timely manner.
• Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to residents’ satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.
• Cleans resident eating areas, work areas, equipment and utensils according to the proper procedures.
• Collects and stacks dirty dishes on cart and returns cart to kitchen.
• Washes cooking equipment, carts, pots, pans, dishes and utensils.
• Cleans eating and prep surfaces, sweeps and mops floor.
• Removes garbage.
• Stores food in designated areas.
• Reports any issues or problems that may arise to Food Services Director.
• Complies with state and federal sanitation standards.
• Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards.
• Attends in-services and other required meetings.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
