The-Bristal-Assisted-Living in West Babylon, NY is seeking a dining services teammate to greet residents, seat guests, assist with menus and dietary needs, and support meal service in a caring community setting.

You will collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure accurate orders, portion control, and timely service while maintaining a clean, welcoming dining room and engaging with residents and families.

Responsabilités

• Greet residents and guests and assist them to tables; help with folding walkers as needed.
• Distribute and collect menus; take meal orders; monitor dietary needs and suggest menu options.
• Assist in plating and portioning appetizers, salads, soups, beverages and desserts for residents and guests.
• Before serving, check meals for appetizing appearance, aroma and presentation.
• Serve meals and beverages with accuracy and promptness.
• Monitor residents' eating habits and report unusual findings to the Director of Wellness.
• Check back to tables to ensure meals meet residents' needs and satisfaction.
• Observe residents' cues and non-verbal signals to anticipate needs; provide prompt service.
• Respond to special requests and dietary preferences; relay questions to the Chef on duty if needed.
• Set and clear tables; maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area; inspect glassware and silverware.
• Bus tables and transport dirty dishes to wash area; re-set tables completely for next service.
• Assure condiments and supplies for next meal are readily available.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and guests; foster a friendly environment.
• Develop positive relationships with residents by addressing them by name and engaging in conversation.
• Familiarize yourself with the daily menu, including special diets and restrictions; assist residents in informed choices.
• Work with kitchen staff to communicate orders and dietary requirements accurately.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth service flow and address issues promptly.
• Volunteer to fill open shifts when staffing varies; follow hygiene and safety protocols.
• Adhere to food handling guidelines and sanitation of dishes, utensils, and service areas.
• Follow proper storage practices with labeling, QA, and stock rotation.
• Detect and address odors indicating spoilage or unsanitary conditions promptly.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces; vacuum floors; manage service area cleanliness.
• Complete special cleaning jobs; foster community by listening to residents’ feedback and addressing concerns.
• Promote social interaction during meals and assist in organizing special events or celebrations.
