Job summary

Abington Manor at Morgan Hill is seeking a Certified Medication Technician to safely assist residents with medication management, collaborating closely with the nursing and wellness team to ensure the right medication is given at the right time with dignity.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of a Medication Administration program, and at least one year of direct senior care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completed medication administration training.
• Minimum 1 year direct care experience in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications according to physician orders and community protocols.
• Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and perform vital signs checks.
• Maintain accurate records in the EHR system.
• Assist with medication inventory, ordering, and ensuring storage, counts, and handling regulations compliance.
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the Wellness Director, care team, and healthcare providers to support resident care plans.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe medication area and promote a supportive wellness environment.
• Provide attentive, compassionate service that respects residents’ mobility, cognitive, and sensory needs.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and team members while upholding ethics and integrity.
