Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking an Executive Chef to lead the culinary and dining department. You will oversee kitchen operations, menu development, food costs, sanitation, and staff leadership to deliver exceptional resident experiences.

The role requires strong leadership, four years of culinary management experience, and a Bachelor’s in a related field; certification is preferred. This position emphasizes safety, guest satisfaction, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related culinary degree required.
• Certified Executive Chef preferred.
• Minimum four years of culinary management experience.
• Proven leadership, customer service, and strong organization.
• Experience with menu development and pricing.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Culinary labor, food and small wares financial management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Achieve 100% resident satisfaction through plate presentation and taste. The Executive Chef circulates dining rooms at meal times daily for resident feedback.
• Establish presentation techniques and ensure quality standards.
• Hire, coach, train, inspire and direct culinary staff; manage scheduling and reviews.
• Develop Sous Chef and Lead Cook for additional leadership duties.
• Direct food cost, labor cost, menu engineering, recipes and standardization of recipe production to ensure consistency.
• Ensure equipment operation and safety/sanitation policies are followed in the work areas.
• Oversee catering events and provide culinary instruction or demonstrations.
• Maintain a positive attitude to support a team environment and promote positive public relations with residents, family and guests.
• Function as Manager on Duty as scheduled with site leadership team
