Arete Living is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious, flavorful meals for residents across care levels at Arete at Gilman Grove in Oregon City. You will follow dietary restrictions, ensure sanitation standards, and create a warm dining experience that feels like home.

Responsibilities include executing daily menus, accommodating special diets, logging temperatures, and collaborating with dietary and nursing staff to align care plans with resident needs.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Cook experience in hospital or healthcare settings preferred.
• Current ServSafe Manager certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions with attention to recipes and production sheets.
• Requires a valid Food Handler card issued by local Health Department.
• Demonstrates knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and storage standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with appealing presentation and correct temperatures.
• Prepare alternative menus and snacks for residents with changing appetites.
• Adapt recipes for dietary needs (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, vegetarian, texture-modified).
• Accommodate dining challenges of memory care residents and maintain a warm dining environment.
• Adhere to ServSafe guidelines and keep kitchen, prep areas, and dishwashing sanitized.
• Log food and refrigerator temperatures daily for quality control.
• Collaborate with Dietary/Dining Services Director and nursing staff on care plans.
