Job summary

Pruitthealth Corporation in Georgia is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to assist residents with medications ordered by licensed providers, under care plans, and to support self-administration as allowed.

You will maintain MAR accuracy, follow Six Rights, monitor for side effects, and communicate with pharmacies, physicians, and families to ensure safe medication management in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Some high school is the minimum education requirement.
• On-the-job training is provided for experience.
• Additional qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; previous medication tech experience preferred; long-term care or assisted living experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of assisted living policies and procedures regarding all aspects of medication management.
• Remains current in knowledge of state and federal rules regarding scope of practice, medication storage & disposal, infection control practices & bio-hazardous waste disposal.
• Able to accurately read, and follow medication orders and medication labels.
• Follows the Six Rights of Medication Administration.
• Monitors resident's medication quantities and related supplies and makes arrangements for timely procurement of refills.
• Accurately documents assistance/administration and resident refusal of medications according to policy and professional standards.
• Immediately reports and documents any medication errors to the administrator or designee per policy and takes appropriate actions for resident's well-being.
