Job summary

The Orchards at Canterbury on the Lake in Waterford Charter Township, MI is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to join our caregiving team. The role focuses on directing resident care plans, ensuring safety and infection control, and maintaining a respectful, high-quality care environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating services on assigned units, regular rounding, staff education, and maintaining strong communication with nurses, providers, and administration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum one-year experience in long term care — supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the implementation of resident care plans, ensuring safety device use, correct positioning, toileting, and infection control.
• Coordinate and supervise services on assigned units to create a comfortable, homelike atmosphere for residents.
• Conduct regular unit rounding to check with staff and residents, including new admissions and acutely ill residents.
• Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect and facility policies are followed.
• Provide education, support, and direction for nurses, assist with care planning and prioritization.
• Monitor incidents and complaints; document, analyze root causes, and implement preventive measures.
• Facilitate communication between nurses, providers, and external vendors to meet resident care needs.
• Ensure accurate documentation through spot-checks and supervision.
