Job summary

Extendicare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct resident care and medication administration in our long-term care facilities. You will document care, coordinate with the DHW/DOC and interdisciplinary team, and support care planning and regulatory compliance.

You will supervise and delegate to unregulated care providers, participate in infection prevention initiatives, and ensure timely, compassionate care for residents and families.

Qualifications

• Must possess strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management and customer focus skills.
• Skills in use of computer and Microsoft Office applications
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse in applicable Province/State
• Experience with seniors and unregulated care providers

Responsibilities

• To complete and ensure residents’ care assessments, service plans and documentation are up to date.
• To assist with scheduling of residents’ care conferences and participate in conferences.
• To monitor and supervise medication administration and ensure regulatory compliance.
• To delegate care and medication administration to unregulated care providers in line with policies and regulations.
• To coordinate and supervise the nursing team’s resident care assignments.
