Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare housekeeping or environmental services.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and standard precautions.
• Ability to lift and move objects over 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect garbage and soiled linen from resident rooms, offices, hallways and other areas inside the facility and surrounding areas.
• Operate mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, and related housekeeping equipment.
• Maintain infection control and standard precautions at all times; follow safety practices when performing tasks.
• Report hazards, damaged equipment, and supply issues to the supervisor.
• Support residents with comfort and dignity and interact respectfully to foster a caring environment.
• Respond promptly to call lights in resident care areas.
• Assist with new admissions and readmissions by ensuring rooms have proper equipment.
• Assist with training of new staff.
• Communicate effectively with residents, visitors, families, staff and supervisors.
• Attend departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
