Job summary

Envision Unlimited in Chicago, IL seeks a DSP-focused program assistant to ensure community living services meet client and agency expectations. Qualifications

• Two years of college or one year of college plus two years of full-time related work experience or high school diploma or equivalent plus five years full-time related work experience required.
• Proof of Direct Service Professional (DSP) training required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and provide training to residents in daily living skills including personal hygiene, housekeeping, meal planning and budgeting.
• Assist residents in achieving maximum independent functioning per the Independent Habilitation Plan.
• Implement group and individual programs promoting growth toward independent living skills.
• Plan daily schedules with household chores, social activities, and appointments.
• Complete and ensure timeliness of documents such as daily progress reports and MAR sheets.
• Monitor living facility for safety and cleanliness; assist with cleaning and maintenance.
• Supervise residents' schedules to ensure timely arrival to programs or job sites.
• Administer medications per program guidelines and attend IHP staffings.
• Plan and supervise recreational and social activities and monitor dietary needs.
• Attend staff meetings and respond to medical/behavioral emergencies as needed.
• Transport residents to appointments and check rooms for safety.
