Job summary

Sunset Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents. The role involves day-to-day housekeeping tasks, cleaning floors, windows, bathrooms, and common areas, with adherence to daily work assignments.

Ideal candidates can read, write, and speak English, follow instructions, and interact tactfully with residents and staff. Minimum age 18 and a commitment to safe handling of supplies are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high-school education.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must be able to follow instructions.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
• Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures in common areas. Assure that watermarks are removed from fixtures.
• Clean windows, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
• Coordinate daily housekeeping services with Director when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc., with proper safety signs.
• Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting as directed by supervisor.
• Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• Lock and/or unlock exterior doors of the facility as directed by your supervisor.
