Job summary

Charleston Healthcare Group is seeking Environmental Services staff to maintain a clean and sanitary nursing facility. Duties include cleaning rooms, laundries, and common areas, with emphasis on organizing work and handling linens and resident clothing.

The role requires teamwork, reliability, and willingness to work weekends and holidays. Must be able to read and follow instructions; prior environmental services experience is a plus, with on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Previous experience in environmental services preferable but not essential.
• On-the-job training with supervision.
• Must have some knowledge in the use of cleaning devices (brooms, mops, buffers).
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Pre-employment and annual Tuberculosis screening exam.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to directives of Environmental Services Supervisor, Administrator, or Director of Nurses.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary facility for residents.
• Perform routine cleaning and dusting tasks.
• Handle laundry: wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and clothing.
• Ensure proper identification and labeling of resident clothing.
• Assist with emergency cleaning as needed.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment properly.
• Work well with co-workers and supervisors.
