Job summary

Baptist Health & Rehab, a Cassia community, is seeking a part-time Resident Care Assistant to join a dedicated care team in Bismarck, ND. No senior care experience is required; training will be provided and opportunities to advance toward CNA and beyond are available.

You will support the nursing team, provide companionship, help with daily care tasks, and contribute to a welcoming, compassionate environment for residents. Shift availability includes Days: 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing team and ensure resident comfort, dignity, and well-being.
• Greet residents and deliver meals to enhance dining experience.
• Assist residents with contacting family and escorting to activities.
• Help with room tidying, bed making, and decluttering surfaces.
• Assist with transporting residents in wheelchairs after training.
• Answer call lights and communicate needs to nursing staff.
• Assist with distributing water, linens, and other supplies.
• Take temperatures of staff/vendors entering the building after training.
• Handle admission packets and new employee folders.

Resident Care Assistant (RCA) Responsibilities

• Enhance resident dining experience by greeting residents and delivering meals.
• Assist residents with Facetime or other methods of contacting family members.
• Help residents keep their room tidy by making beds, straightening drawers and closets, and decluttering surfaces.
• Read to residents or assist them with one-to-one activities.
• Assist with transporting residents/ transfer residents in wheelchairs after proper training.
• Answer call lights and notify nursing staff of need as indicated.
• Assist with passing water mugs, passing out linens, etc.
• Take temperatures of employees and/or vendors entering the building after proper training.
• Empty linen and stock supplies.
• Assist with answering the phone as needed.
• Put admission packets and new employee folders together.
• Deliver newsletters, mail, or other items to residents.
• Perform non-personal/non-invasive duties as requested.

Resident Care Assistant Qualifications

• Must have desire to get into healthcare industry.
• Passion working with older adults required.
• Ability to provide friendly customer service to residents and families.
• Must be responsible and reliable.
