Job summary

Cottagewood is seeking a Resident Assistant to provide compassionate care to residents on a beautiful 17-acre campus. No experience is necessary; paid comprehensive training is provided, with flexible schedules and advancement opportunities.

Starting wages are competitive at $18.00/hour, with up to $23.00 for CNA-experienced applicants. Evening and overnight shift differentials apply, plus holiday pay and generous benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability and 401K with match.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Must be able to prioritize, and organize work effectively and efficiently.
• Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
• Must work as a team member with other personnel.
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
• Must be punctual, with good attendance record.
• Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs as identified in the service plan.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers using a transfer belt and proper body mechanics.
• Assist in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.
• Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of independence.
• Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement.
• Observe client and report changes in physical and emotional condition.
• Assist with activities by encouraging participation and escorting residents to scheduled activities.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance and redirection as appropriate.
• Complete all required documentation daily; service schedule and flow sheet.
• Attend In-service training as assigned.
