Livingston County is seeking Nursing Assistants – NC for its County Service. The role supports residents in county skilled nursing facilities with non-technical tasks and direct care under supervision.
The position emphasizes resident comfort, hygiene, feeding support, and basic observation. A certified NYS nurse aide or nursing student in good standing is required, with preference for county residents.
Qualifications
- Certified as a Residential Health Care Facilities Nurse Aide or Certified Nurse Aide.
- Nursing student in approved program with two full semesters and/or 90 contact hours, awaiting licensure exam.
- Ability to lift and support resident weight with assisting devices.
Responsibilities
- Aids in walking, feeding, bathing and related restorative care for residents.
- Assists with personal hygiene (hair, nails, mouth, teeth, dentures).
- Takes vital signs under supervision of RN.
- Supports range of motion and independence activities under supervision.
- Assists residents with meals and feeding when necessary.
- Reports residents' food intake and output as ordered by RN.
- Makes beds and changes linen; restocks supplies.
- Provides lotion rubs and assesses resident needs and well-being.
- Delivers toiletries and linen, secures valuables.
- Transfers and positions residents; moves equipment as needed.
- Assists with outside activities as requested.
