Job summary

Peregrine Senior Living is seeking a Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant to support memory-impaired residents with daily activities and personal care in the Albany/Greater Albany area. The role emphasizes dignity, accuracy in recording care, and timely reporting of changes in residents’ conditions.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and CNA/HHA/PCA certifications preferred or as required by law, with a preference for at least one year of caregiving experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist memory-impaired residents with bathing, grooming and dressing while promoting dignity.

• Report changes in resident condition to supervisor promptly.
• Encourage resident participation in community activities.

Job description

Schedule: Full Time, 7am - 3pm

Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour, based on experience.

Shift differential also available for Evenings, Nights and Weekend Shifts

We are currently seeking an energetic and dedicated Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant.

Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant Responsibilities

• Assisting our memory impaired residents to complete tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining the residents’ dignity and promoting their independence
• Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights
• Maintain and document proper records of care
• Immediately report changes in resident’s condition to the supervisor: evidence of illness, changes in behavior, personal care needs not being met, medication issues, residents’ whereabouts unknown, etc.
• Promote and encourage residents to participate in community activities

Resident Care Aide/Medication Assistant Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant-CNA, Home Health Aide-HHA, or Personal Care Aide-PCA certification preferred or as required by law
• One year working in a care giving capacity preferred
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly required
