Job summary

Modern Family Law (MFL) invites 3Ls and new graduates sitting for the February or July Bar exams to join the Residency Program across Georgia (Atlanta or Savannah). The program offers training in substantive family law, courtroom advocacy, and mentorship with a clear path to an Associate Attorney role after passing the Bar.

Residents will work in a remote-first environment with in-person court requirements and are expected to relocate to Georgia.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Register for the February or July Bar exam.
  • Must attain a passing MPRE before sitting for the Bar.
  • Character & Fitness application submitted timely and approved by the State Bar.
  • Experience in Family Law Clinics is a plus.
  • Mock Trial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in MFL Academy's Residency Program to receive training in substantive family law and courtroom advocacy.
  • Receive mentorship from Learning & Development department and legal teams.
  • Develop litigation skills and transition to an Associate Attorney position after passing the Bar.
  • Engage in direct client contact and case management on family law matters.

Job description

Modern Family Law (MFL), a rapidly expanding national law firm specializing in Family Law, is seeking 3Ls and recent graduates sitting for the February 2027 Bar exam or the July 2027 Bar exam to participate in MFL Academy's Residency Program in one of our Georgia offices (Atlanta or Savannah). This role is hybrid, but you must sit for the Bar and plan to reside in the state where you are applying.

Residency Program Details

After sitting for the Bar exam, Residency participants will join MFL to receive training in substantive family law and courtroom advocacy. Residents will receive mentorship from the MFL Learning & Development department and legal teams, helping them successfully transition to an MFL Associate Attorney position upon passing the Bar.

  • Competitive salary for a Resident is $66,560.
  • Starting salary for an Associate Attorney is $90,000 (base), with earnings up to $110,700 per year.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $66,560-$110,700. This range is a reasonably reliable estimate of the salary that this individual is expected to receive. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Requirements
