Job summary

Modern Family Law in Fort Collins, CO, seeks rising 3Ls or recent graduates for the MFL Academy Residency Program in our Colorado offices (Denver, Colorado Springs, or Fort Collins). The role is hybrid, with Colorado Bar requirement and residency within commuting distance.

After bar, residency participants join MFL for training in family law and courtroom advocacy, with mentorship from Learning & Development and legal teams to transition to an associate attorney upon passing the Bar.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Register for the upcoming February or July 2027 Bar exam.
  • Attain a passing score on the MPRE before sitting for the Bar exam.
  • Timely submission and approval of Character & Fitness application by the State Bar.
  • Experience in Family Law Clinics is a plus.
  • Mock Trial experience is a plus.
  • Submission of cover letter, law school transcript, and responses to candidate questionnaire.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in MFL Academy Residency Program and training in substantive family law and courtroom advocacy.
  • Residents will receive mentorship from the Learning & Development department and legal teams.
  • Help transition to an Associate Attorney position upon passing the Bar.
  • Work in a hybrid setting with remote-first flexibility and in-office requirements as needed by courts and clients.

Modern Family Law?(MFL),?a rapidly expanding national law?firm specializing in Family Law, is seeking 3Ls?and recent graduates?sitting for the?February 2027?Bar exam?or the July 2027 Bar exam to?participate?in?MFL Academy?s Residency?Program?in one of our Colorado offices (Denver, Colorado Springs, or Fort Collins).??This?role is hybrid, but you must sit for the Colorado Bar (no UBE score transfer), and plan to?reside within a reasonable commute to the office location. Residency?Program Details: After sitting for the Bar exam,?Residency participants?will?join MFL?to?receive training in?substantive family law and courtroom advocacy.?Residents will receive?mentorship from?the MFL?Learning & Development?department?and legal?teams,?helping?them?successfully?transition to an?MFL?Associate Attorney?position?upon?passing the?Bar.

This range is a reasonably reliable estimate of the salary that this individual is expected to receive. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full-time employees will be eligible for health insurance with an optional HSA, short-term disability, longterm disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program. Additional voluntary programs include voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long-term care, voluntary critical illness and cancer insurance, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs may also be available in certain markets.
