Job summary

Modern Family Law (MFL) invites applications for its Residency Program in Washington. The program targets 3Ls and recent graduates sitting for the February 2027 or July 2027 Bar exams, with hybrid work options and a pathway to an Associate Attorney role after Bar completion.

Residents will receive training in family law and courtroom advocacy, mentorship from L&D and legal teams, and exposure to client matters including divorce, custody, and support, along with a clear advancement track.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Register for the upcoming February or July Bar exam for Washington (no score transfers).
  • Pass MPRE before sitting for the Bar exam.
  • Timely submission and approval of Character & Fitness application by the State Bar.
  • Experience in Family Law Clinics is a plus.
  • Mock Trial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in MFL Academy Residency Program in a Washington office (Seattle, Bellevue or Everett).
  • Receive training in substantive family law and courtroom advocacy.
  • Mentorship from Learning & Development and legal teams to transition to an Associate Attorney after passing the Bar.

Compensation and Benefits:Salary Range$83,200-$153,700.This range is areasonably reliableestimate of the salary that this individual is expected toreceive. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factorspermittedby law.

Full-time employees will be eligible for health insurance with an optional HSA, short-term disability, long-term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401K, vacation, sick time, and an employeeassistanceprogram.Additionalvoluntary programs include voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long-term care, voluntary critical illness and cancer insurance, and pet insurance.
