Job summary

Great Lakes Management in Minnesota is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant to provide hands-on care and support for residents, following each resident’s service agreement. You will assist with ADLs, participate in activities, and help maintain residents’ comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include documenting daily progress, coordinating with the nursing team, and ensuring residents receive appropriate physical and emotional care in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in long term care or assisted living (Preferred).
• Registered as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred).
• Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in the resident's best interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs as indicated in the service agreement.
• Help residents maintain independence and quality of life.
• Provide physical and emotional support to residents.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the service agreement.
• Observe residents and report changes to the case manager.
• Interact with residents to provide reassurance and engagement.
• Complete required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, etc.
• Medication administration per MD orders and guidelines/policy.

Resident Assistant Job Objective(s):

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing hands-on care, both physical and emotional, as outlined in each resident’s service agreement. Responsible for effectively communicating with residents, families, and notifying the case manager of any changes in condition or concerns. The Resident Assistant assists in the dining room and participating in activities and outings.

Resident Assistant Job Responsibilities:

• Assistresidents with ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) asindicatedon the individualized service agreement
• Help each resident to reach andmaintainthe highest level of performance and independence.
• Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
• Assistwith treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement
• The Resident Assistantobservesclientsand reportschanges in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc.tothe casemanager.
• Interactwith residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
• Complete all required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, communication book, etc.
• Medication Administration per MD orders and per guidelines/policy.
