Job summary

The Birches Assisted Living in Clarendon Hills, IL is seeking a Resident Assistant for a full-time schedule (7-3PM) with flexibility and every-other-weekend work. The role emphasizes compassionate care, daily living support, and meaningful resident interactions in a small, privately owned community.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift minimum 50 lbs.
• Must be able to safely wear required PPE including respirator unless exempted.

Responsibilities

• Know residents and families by spending time to understand them.
• Understand the community’s philosophy and language.
• Build positive relationships to enhance community culture.
• Engage residents in a genuine, compassionate way.
• Support residents in adopting a successful aging lifestyle.
• Provide scheduled and unscheduled assistance with activities of daily living.
• Assist with meals or lunch in the dining room as assigned.
