Job summary

York Gardens Senior Living is seeking a caregiver to provide personal care and health-related services to residents in a warm, community setting in Edina, MN. Week 1 has no schedule; Week 2 includes Sat & Sun 2:30pm-10:30pm shifts.

Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, meals, and RN-directed treatments, with medication assistance as directed. Qualifications include minimal caregiving experience, ability to use common tech devices, and MN NA registry rules for under-18 applicants.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of caregiving experience.
• Ability to use computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
• If under 18, must be MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
• Support health-related tasks under RN direction, including glucose monitoring and vitals.
• Administer medications or assist under RN supervision (insulin injections).
• Perform home services such as laundry and meal delivery/service in dining room.
• Observe residents and report changes in condition to staff; respond to emergencies.

York Gardens Senior Living is proud to be part of the vibrant Edina community. Our senior living is conveniently located near public transportation and the crossroads of Highways 100, I-35W and I-494. We have 76 Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care apartments in a warm, friendly, convenient community.

Week 1: No Schedule

Week 2: Sat & Sun - 2:30pm-10:30pm

This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
