Job summary

Ebenezer is seeking a compassionate caregiver for The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center Senior Living in Brooklyn Center, MN. You will provide personal care and health-related services to residents, supporting daily living activities and safety under the direction of licensed staff.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to use computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must manage restrictions that they cannot pass medications or operate a mechanical lift.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including bathing, dressing, feeding and toileting.
• Provides health-related services under RN direction, including monitoring blood glucose.
• Administers medication or assists under RN supervision and records vital signs.
• Performs laundry and maintains cleaning schedule per shift.
• Delivers meals and assists with meal service in the dining room.
• Observes residents and reports changes to appropriate staff; responds to emergencies.

Job Overview

The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center Senior Living is an affordable, friendly senior living community located near the crossroads of I-694, I-94 and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center. Just down the street from CVS and CUB Foods, The Sanctuary community hosts 158 Assisted Living and Memory Care apartments. Our residents enjoy worry-free living in a warm and friendly community with services to meet their individual needs.

Week 1: No Schedule
Week 2: Sat & Sun - 6am-2:30pm

This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
