Job summary

The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center, managed by Ebenezer, is seeking caregivers to provide personal care and health-related services in a warm senior living community. You will assist residents with daily activities, monitor health needs, and help with medications under RN guidance, while supporting meals and social activities.

Ideal candidates have limited caregiving experience, strong tech skills, and must meet MN registry rules for under-18 applicants where applicable.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of caregiving experience.
• Ability to use technology (computers, handheld devices, cell phones, fax machines).
• If under 18, must be on MN NA registry and cannot pass medications or operate a mechanical lift.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares including bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, and transfers.
• Administer or assist with medications under RN direction and record vitals.
• Follow care plans, observe condition changes, and report to appropriate staff.
• Support meal service, activity participation, and housekeeping tasks as assigned.

Job Overview

The Sanctuary at Brooklyn Center Senior Living is an affordable, friendly senior living community located near the crossroads of I-694, I-94 and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center. Just down the street from CVS and CUB Foods, The Sanctuary community hosts 158 Assisted Living and Memory Care apartments. Our residents enjoy worry-free living in a warm and friendly community with services to meet their individual needs.

This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.
