Cedarhurst of Wentzville, a regional healthcare provider and a true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Resident Assistant at our Cedarhurst of Wentzville community.
As a Resident Assistant, you will assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain good personal hygiene, carry out activities of daily living, maintain good health, and participate in community activities.
You will impact the lives of our residents by:
- Assisting residents with personal care needs such as grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
- Responding to signal lights, bells, or intercoms to determine residents' needs proactively.
- Taking and recording vital signs and food and fluid intake as directed.
- Transporting or assisting residents with walking, turning, or repositioning.
- Changing bed linens, running errands, directing visitors, and answering phones.
- Assisting with laundry and housekeeping duties.
- Helping residents to and from the dining room and assisting with meals.
- Encouraging and assisting residents to participate in activities.
- Listening to residents' concerns and reporting observations to the care team.
- Promoting residents' physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing and striving to restore independence when possible.
- Understanding and following residents' Advance Directives.
- Maintaining effective communication with residents' families regarding their care.
- Working well with others, taking direction from management, and engaging in conflict resolution as needed.
- The physical demands include standing, moving, communicating, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds independently, or up to 200 pounds with assistance.
- Other duties as assigned.
To become a Resident Assistant, you will need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of experience as a resident assistant preferred.
- Proficiency in Internet browsers, Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and HR-related systems if applicable.
