Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Resident Assistant at our Cedarhurst of St. Charles community. We are currently hiring for all shifts!
As a Resident Assistant, you will assist and provide direction to residents with personal care needs, enabling them to maintain good hygiene, carry out daily activities, stay healthy, and participate in community activities.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting residents with personal care needs such as grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
- Responding to signal lights, bells, or intercom to address residents' needs proactively.
- Measuring and recording vital signs and food/fluid intake as directed.
- Transporting and assisting residents with walking, turning, or repositioning, alone or with help.
- Changing linens, running errands, managing visitors, and handling phone calls.
- Assisting with laundry, housekeeping, and meal service.
- Encouraging participation in activities and supporting residents' wellbeing.
- Monitoring residents’ condition, reporting observations to the care team.
- Promoting residents’ physical, emotional, and personal wellbeing, aiming to maximize independence.
- Understanding and respecting residents’ Advance Directives.
- Communicating effectively with residents’ families regarding their care.
- Working collaboratively with staff, taking initiative, and resolving conflicts as needed.
- Physical demands include standing, moving, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds independently, with assistance for up to 200 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of experience as a resident assistant preferred.
- CPR or BLS certification preferred.
