Job description

Sierra Health and Wellness Centers use evidence-based methods to accomplish the restoration of families, relationships, and self-worth. By transforming the character, we give life back to the people who have lost it through substance abuse and mental health issues.

Our inpatient facility houses 16 clients who receive specialized and personal care from our staff. 15 acres, located in scenic Bangor. Next door, we have a 6 bed facility caring for Veterans' mental health.

Positions available:
  • Full time- Sun- Wed(5pm-1:30am)
  • Part time- Thurs-Sat (5pm-1:30am) (this does not include benefits)

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Resident Assistant is a client-centered position that requires the employee to deliver excellent client care and compassion, from the beginning of their experience with us until they leave treatment. The Resident Assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide transportation services for clients when admitting, client appointments and conducting pharmaceutical pickups safely. The position will also assist in monitoring the health status of patients as a certified Med Tech and support the program by providing environmental services.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
  • Provides safe transportation for admitting clients.
  • Provides safe transportation for program needs, including but not limited to medication pick-ups, client outings, and appointments.
  • Communicates traffic delays, accidents, or situations of concern with management. As it pertains to the transport of clients.
  • Track all vehicle maintenance and maintain in clean, operation order.
  • Interact and communicate with clients and staff professionally.
  • Assist the clients with administering a COVID test before entering the vehicle.
  • Assist in the admission process, including but not limited to documenting client’s searches and inventory.
  • Prepare and review medical records, vitals, and shift notes to evaluate the resident's physical and emotional status.
  • Provide client care and monitoring according to the Physician's orders, care plans, established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Sign, date, and perform all charting, record-keeping, and care plans in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Performs EVS services at the facility - including but not limited to performing general sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping of floors, disposing of trash from bins, dusting and polishing furniture and room accessories, scrubbing sinks and toilets in bathrooms, laundry, cleaning windows/mirrors and counters, inventory of supplies, and keeps all public spaces neat and tidy.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Familiarization with HIPAA/client confidentiality and personal rights.
  • Must possess/complete CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Able to get a passenger endorsement within 4 months of hire date.
  • Must possess/complete approved 6-hour Med Tech training course.
Preferred education and experience:
  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field.
  • Two to five years of experience driving and/or in a Med Tech role.

Hourly wage: $19.78-$25.72
